OWENDALE BRANDYMAN  S-1191 AWSB

Born 1987   |  80 registered Welsh progeny

Sire: Croston Cufflink (Imp UK)

Dam: Owendale Brandy

SOD: Sir Percy of Paxhall (Imp UK)

Brandyman is right up to height, standing 13.2 hands.  He has the best of limbs and is a wonderful pony under saddle, as are many of his progeny.

Now 24 years old, he no longer stands at public stud, but continues to sire ponies for us.

His best known son is the stallion Mithril Glenfiddich (Exp NZ) who stands at Dianne and Bruce Kimpton’s Ty Gwyn Stud on the North Island of New Zealand.  Glen has won the NZ sire ratings three times - Glen is the beautiful black pony pictured below right.

A few years ago, we realised that Brandyman was getting older and that we hadn’t kept many daughters as future brood mares.

Since that time, we have kept all his fillies and now have Mithril Holly Golightly, Miss Hepburn, Roman Holiday all daughters of Mithril Hester, Valetta from Mithril Valerie, Tanwen from Glenmore Tessa and this year, Derlwyn Regina has given us a lovely filly, Mithril Riccadonna.  Some of these fillies may be for sale.

Progeny by Brandyman have had very successful lives as show hunter and dressage ponies, including Mithril Musket, Making Waves, Vodka, Mignonette, Chrome and Black Russian, and Matitojo Dawnie’s Girl, Lykanarro Miz Emily, Elken Ruffian and Garraboo Cinnabar.

WESTBURY SPITFIRE SECTION D

WESTBURY SPITFIRE  S-2691

Born 2006

Sire: Bookra Sports Edition

Dam: Westbury Sybil

SOD: Llanina Merlin (Imp UK)

Photos: Raelene Milvain.  ‘Rex’ as a four year old

Rider: Kristy Sparkes

Westbury Spitfire, ‘Rex’ to his friends and family, is a small Section D, bought specifically to breed Section C ponies.  He should mature to approximately 14.1 hands.

He was started under saddle by Norm Clark and is now ridden by Kristy Sparkes.

In his first season under saddle, he was never unplaced in ridden or dressage classes.  He placed second in his section of the Performance Pony competition at Barastoc 2011 (22 entrants) - the competition comprises a led section, a dressage test and a jumping round.  He was also second overall in the competition - there are four classes and over 100 individual competitors.  His scores won him the title of Champion Native Pony of the competition.

Rex competed successfully throughout 2011, culminating in placing fourth Preliminary in the Victorian Pony Dressage Championship conducted at the Dressage Festival in December.

Rex covered one mare as a two year old - the result was a very nice bay colt, since gelded.  Mithril Martini Henry should have a big future as a child’s show hunter or dressage pony.

We two yearling fillies by Rex.

Due to popular demand, Westbury Spitfire stands at stud, fresh or chilled AI.
